“Fantasy Boys” in Color

October 23, 2009

Here are some color versions of the “Fantasy Boys” that I posted the black & white sketches of earlier. These were a blast to draw and color! I don’t have much more to say than that. Let me know if you guys likey!

A Hero & His Boyfriend

October 21, 2009

As I was looking for another image to post, I came across this illustration of Blue Comet and Justin. I created it  a while back as a promotional piece. It even appeared in Instinct Magazine in the May 2008 issue when our boys were featured in a “couple’s quiz”.

Here we have Blue Comet in a tender moment with his boyfriend, Justin Summers, with their hometown of Golden Bay City in the background. Awww…

Stupid “Blackest Night”… Hawt Kyle Rayner!

October 15, 2009

It’s “New Comic Book Day” and I just finished reading Green Lantern Corps #41 from DC Comics. The “Blackest Night” bullshit is still going strong. I’m a big fan of Green Lantern, but I fucking hate zombies!!!

The Black Lantern zombies are awful! They rip out hearts to gain power so they can create new corps members. It’s disgusting!!! The writers are going way too far with the horror angle on this. I thought Green Lantern was supposed to be a science fiction comic. I keep waiting for this dumb-ass story line to be over!

Anyway, the one good thing to come from the issue was this hot pic of Kyle Rayner! Damn, he look fine!

Sketch Book Time!

October 12, 2009

Today I decided to delve a bit into my sketch book and share some original character concept art. Below are two sketches of some fantasy characters I whipped up about a year ago.

As often happens with me, I tend to shift from one interest to another at the drop of a hat! lol. At one moment, I’m totally obsessed with Green Lantern, the next, I’m all about Final Fantasy, then I’m going bonkers for Star Wars… There’s no predicting these shifts and it sometimes drives my boyfriend crazy!

Well, last year I experienced one such shift, which happened when I was feeling burnt-out on super heroes. (Hey, it happens!) I got it in my head that I was going to develop a whole new fantasy comic. So together, Russ and I came up with some plot ideas and I sketched out a couple of character concepts. This particular idea involved two gay brothers who were fortune hunters and were always on the prowl for the next hot guy to jump into bed with. They were a complete departure from our clean-cut super heroes, Blue Comet & Fusion!

Unfortunately, we fell behind on BC & F while developing this new idea. Realizing that we couldn’t get too behind, I had to stop and get back to work on our premier comic. Oh well… At least I did get to draw a fantasy world when BC & F journeyed to that alternate dimension. As of now however, this idea is on hold.

But who knows, maybe one day we’ll have enough time and energy to work on these bad-boys again. But for now, please enjoy the sketches!

Blue Comet & Fusion’s Super-Gay Fantasy Wear!

October 9, 2009

Recently, when Russ and I did the pages for Blue Comet and Fusion in which they journeyed to another dimension, I thought it would be fun to have them change their costumes to fit the fantasy setting. I wanted the costumes to be sexy and stylish and was inspired by the creative fashions of Final Fantasy games. Those games have some of the hottest men around! (I’d love to get in the sack with Tidus from Final Fantasy X, he’s such a cutie!!!) Ahem… Anyway, the outfits are some of the most interesting designs I’ve ever seen.

So, below is the initial concept design I came up with for Blue Comet and Fusion’s Super-Gay Fantasy Wear! At first I drew the boys sans shirts as you can see. (Hell, I draw them with their shirts off any chance I get!) But, as I began illustrating the pages, Russ and I realized they looked just a little “too gay”, lol, so I covered up their mid-sections. (Aww…) Adding the shirts meant a change on Fusion’s color scheme. We changed his cape to blue to go along with his red shirt, and made his shoulder armor completely yellow.

It was fun coming up with these different looks for Blue Comet and Fusion. If you’re unfamiliar with what I’ve been referring to, check out the pages from our “Fantasy Adventure” here. Just click the menu at the bottom of the page, scroll down and select “Savage Returns” to start the story. Have fun!

Clone Wars Season 2… Yay!

October 2, 2009

I’m so excited! Tonight, the second season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars premieres on Cartoon Network. I really enjoyed the movie and first season, and I can’t wait to dive right into the next season of adventures!

I really love all that Jedi action. Anakin and Obi-Wan are awesome! I’m also a big fan of the Clone Troopers and Jango Fett from Ep. II Attack of the Clones. They have such neat designs and I really love actor Temuera Morrison’s portrayal (his New Zealand Accent is way cool!) So I get a big kick out of seeing the Clone Troopers get more development in The Clone Wars series, (even though Mr. Morrison doesn’t provide their voices).

My other favorite part of The Clone Wars are the Battle Droids. They have the best lines! They’re hilarious and I always look forward to finding out what they’ll say next. Also, General Grievous is totally cool! So is Ventress, and Ahsoka, and Dooku… there’s so many cool characters!

So, in honor of The Clone Wars second season premier, here is an image I illustrated of Anakin Skywalker. I drew this image right before I saw Ep. III Revenge of the Sith back in 2005. Even though Obi-Wan Kenobi is my favorite character, I couldn’t resist drawing “the Chosen One”… I had a big crush on Hayden Christensen back then… he’s so hot! Anyway, enjoy!
